REACHING OUT

One of Unique's key objectives is to reach out into the wider community, both to trans individuals who may need help and encouragement, and to the general public to promote awareness of transgendered people.

Unique is now a sponsor of Sparkle, the national transgender festival in Manchester, and also helps to  run the Information Stand at the event.  Committee  members also take part in various activities to facilitate understanding of trans issues, from assisting with diversity training for organisations such as the police, local councils and universities, to flying the trans flag at festivals like  Manchester Pride.  They have also on occasion appeared on radio and television.
