WHO WE ARE

Unique is a Constituted Organisation with an Elected Committee.

Elen Heart (Secretary)

Unlike many Trans-people, I did not realise that I was Transgendered until recently, though I have known for a long time that I was not 'normal'.  My first mentors were two Transsexual women, and I soon realised that I was more than a Cross-dresser.
I am not sure if I am truly Transsexual, though I live much of my life as Elen.  For the present I simply enjoy my new life as a Trans-girl.  My aim for UNIQUE is to emphasise the positive aspects of being transgendered.

Debbie Roberts (Chair)

I always knew I was different from the other boys.  I envied the girls and their fabulous clothes, and I have dressed since my early teens.  I love being one of the girls and expressing outwardly the emotions and feelings that lurk inside, it just feels so right!  I am only able to be myself within the T-girl community at the moment but I am extremely proud to be the Chair of Unique, and although I think a lot has been achieved in a short period of time there is still a lot of work to do before we can put our hands on our hips, girls, and say that this group is indeed Unique.

Ellena Britton( Web Mistress)

I have always known I was different from my peers, and have felt the desire to dress and behave as a woman from my very early formative years. It is only in the last fifteen years that I have been able to  blossom fully and develop my feminine identity. I am very happily married and my wife is most supportive of my Trans-Woman lifestyle. I see myself as a transgendered person who wishes to present as a female as often as family commitments allow. It has been a big learning curve for me to participate in constructing this Web Site and I am proud of the results that we have been able to achieve.

Lynette Bebbington

I have been cross dressing for a good part of my life.  I am a twin.  I don't know whether it comes from being a twin; my other half is also female.  I only came out of the closet about 18 months ago, after meeting Elen and Jenny-Anne.  My life has changed dramatically for the better since then.

Jenny-Anne Bishop

I have been Transgendered as long as I can remember.  I was diagnosed TS in 1980 but because I was married with young children I decided to stay the course until they grew up.  I now live on my own, most of the time as Jenny-Anne, though I still have to present  male for work.  I really enjoy being Jenny-Anne and feel it's the real me. I try hard to represent the acceptable face of Trans-women in the community. I'm very glad to be a member of Unique and hope to be useful to the group.

Angelina Simmons

I started dressing very early on in life and remained in the closet for many years. A couple of years ago, after joining the Beaumont Society, I found my local UNIQUE group then meeting at Connah's Quay. I attend a variety of monthly functions, some local others as far as Manchester, plus shopping trips as Angelina I have named myself  after a song by a famous singer. I am single and like to think, fashion conscious, which is a challenge as my sources are often Charity shops or car boot sales. Other interests include oil painting, cooking and creative use of my sewing machine.
